Lloyd Burton has
been doing meditation practices from the Theravada Buddhist tradition
since 1975, and teaching them since 1997 -- principally under
the tutelage of senior guiding teachers at the Insight Meditation
Society in Barre, Massachusetts, and the Spirit Rock Meditation
Center in Woodacre, California. In
2000 he completed the first Community Dharma Leaders training program
at Spirit Rock. His day job is as professor of law and
public policy in the Graduate School of Public Affairs at the
University of Colorado; and his most recent book is Worship and
Wilderness: Culture, Religion, and Law in Public Lands Management
(U. of Wisc. Press, 2002). |

David Chernikoff began
the study and practice of meditation in 1971 and started teaching
insight meditation in 1988. He trained as a yoga teacher at
the Integral Yoga Institute and completed the Community Dharma
Leader program at Spirit Rock Meditation Center. His teaching
has been influenced by senior teachers from the Insight Meditation
Society and Spirit Rock, Tibetan teachers he studied with during
a 3-year stay in Nepal, and spiritual guides from other contemplative
traditions, most notably Ram Dass, Father Thomas Keating, and
Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi. Currently, David teaches meditation
and psychology at Naropa University and has a private practice
as a psychotherapist and spiritual counselor in Boulder. |

Terry Ray has
been practicing vipassana meditation since 1974, and teaching
for over 20 years. She completed the Community Dharma Leader's
program at Spirit Rock, leads retreats and teaches vipassana
through the Insight Meditation Community and at Naropa Institute
in Boulder. Terry is a licensed psychotherapist and yoga instructor
in Boulder, CO and leads classes and workshops in the U.S.
and Mexico. Her method is gentle yet powerful, and focuses
on waking up to one's innate wisdom through simple mindfulness
practice. |
